WellSky Transfusion Report Writing Workshop

Professional services to be provided

WellSky will provide remote training with a hands-on learning approach to learn how to create and modify reports used with WellSky Transfusion using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).

Day 1 – Basic Class  

Details

• Maximum of 8 trainees
• Duration is 4 hours (with breaks)
• This technical level remote course is intended for IT/LIS resources

Requirements

• Trainees should be added to all 3 report security groups defined for WellSky Transfusion in your AD (Active Directory).  
• Class format to be via Zoom with instructor to demonstrate in WellSky’s training environment. 

Preferred Requirements  

• Background and knowledge of databases and writing queries. 
• Preferred that trainees have access to dual monitor workstations or be in training/conference room with larger TV/monitor connected to Zoom as well as their workstations.  This way the trainee can share their screen when encountering problems or having questions during hands-on training.

Overview of Content

• SSRS Web Portal Overview
• Access and navigate Report Builder

  • Connecting to datasource
  • Adding a Tablix (Matrix, Table or List)
  • Groups (Row and Column groups)
  • Rectangles, Text Boxes
  • Expressions
  • Borders, padding
  • Images

• Modify existing report with Report Builder
• Best practices in report writing
• Learning resources

Day 2 – Intermediate Class  

Details

• Maximum of 8 trainees
• Duration is 6 hours (with breaks)
• This technical level remote course is intended for IT/LIS resources with SSRS reporting writing experience

Requirements

• Trainees should be added to all 3 report security groups defined for WellSky Transfusion in your AD (Active Directory).  
• Attendees must have SSRS report writing background.
• Class format to be via Zoom with instructor to demonstrate in customer’s environment. 

Preferred Requirements

• Preferred that trainees have access to dual monitor workstations or be in training/conference room with larger TV/monitor connected to Zoom as well as their workstations.  This way the trainee can share their screen when encountering problems or having questions during hands-on training.

  • Managing reports, sub-reports, folders, download, upload, subscriptions

• Access and navigate Report Builder

  • Creating a new dataset
  • Pre-defined shared datasets
  • Parameters
  • Adding a Tablix (Matrix, Table or List)
  • Groups (Row and Column groups)
  • Expressions
  • Graphs and charts
  • Sub-reports

• Create a new report in Report Builder (simple report that can be designed in 1 hour during class, please provide ideas of reports to be considered).
• WellSky Transfusion database overview
• Scheduling Reports (subscriptions – Email and Shared folder)
• Learning resources
• Transfusion slip design (discuss tables in WellSky Transfusion and where reports live in RS)
• Exporting reports
• Images
• Graphs
• Sub-reports
• Modify existing report with Report Builder
• Create a new report in Report Builder (simple report that can be designed in 1 hour during class, please provide ideas of reports to be considered).

Continuing Education Credits

WellSky is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E.^® Program.  P.A.C.E.^® Provider Number: 517.  This course is approved for CA licensed clinical laboratory scientists and personnel. CA Agency Number: 0001.  Participants will each receive 10 contact hours for the 2-day program.
